more non-news... or well something like that!

Well, It's been a while since we've updated so i figured that it was about time... There is nothing new! HA! Just kidding, well not really but, anyway. Dad is doing well. All the openings that were made for the operation have more or less closed up wonderfully! No infections at all! He is doing well, still gets tired if he does too much but also gets bored if he doesn't do enough ~ its a balancing act but recovery is going well.

He's had some appointments but needs to wait for a few more before the chemo can start. They have found out that he will get the pic line again... probably sometime in June... depends on how the appointments go when he'll start treatments. He'll have to go into the hosiptal to get the bottle attached (he'll have the same type of bottle as the first time) but the nurse that has been coming to change the dressing says that the nurses that come to the house can disconnect the bottles which would be really nice because then mom and dad won't have to be going to the hospital every two days! So yeah you can pray that's how it can be!

But yeah that's the update I have for now!
"Talk" to you all again soon... when there's new news one of us will let you know!

Almost the Weekend

Hello All,
Talked to mom this morning and got the update on dad's appointment yesterday. He went to see the chemo doctor and they are going to do 8 treatments, 2 per week for 4 months. He's going to have the chemo bottle again and the pik line. They don't know for sure when he will start that again. He has to see Dr. A and get a CAT scan and heal up some more before they can do anything. So yeah, that's the new there.

Oh and he is healing up really well. The nurse that comes in to pack the places that they openned to go in for the surgery, says that they are healing up really well!
Thanks for your prayers. Things that you can specifically pray for these days are: quick healing, wisdom for doctors, and that the CAT will show no cancer at all! Dr A figures he got it all but prayers won't hurt! :)

Well I should go, off to get youth group stuff ready!

Thanks again for your support, prayers, visits phone calls, etc they are greatly appreciated!

Its safe to visit...

Well, dad can shower now, so those of you that were staying away because of his "strength" its all good now... no but seriously i just talked to mom and dad and Joy for that matter, and dad can now shower and not just bath which he is excited about! He's doing well really well. The nurse comes in once a day to change the dressing and they are saying that everything looks to be healing up well.

He is in more pain then last time but we remind him that they did more this time... so it will take longer to heal.

He's getting a little bored as he really can't do much. He has appreciated the visits and phone calls that have come but feel free to call and/or stop by I'm sure he'd appreciate the company.

Joy is still in there... or well more still there again. i think the plan was for her to stay until with weekend whne Dan and he kids will come and get her.

So, yeah that's the news from here... well more there.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for quick healing!
Peace out, - wow I'm still tired because i found that hilarious!

He's HOME!!! For those of you who may have gone up to visit, i'm sure you've figured it out! I'm sorry i was unable to update earlier (those of you with 3 or more kids know the craziness). Dad was given the boot Monday morning. He's doing amazingly well, and continues to improve daily. The difference in recovery from the last time is amazing, and continues to be somewhat of a mystery to us, considering the surgery was more invasive this time. We certainly serve a mighty God! Amy left for a few day stop over in Calgary to meet her intern. It's so funny, it seems like just a few short years ago SHE was the intern! I'm headed back to Mom & Dad's today and staying till Saturday (Mom's b-day...oh she'll kill me for saying that!). Please continue to pray for dad, specifically against infection and healing of the bowel. THANK YOU!
