Hip Pain changes to leg pain....

September 25, 2007 at 07:44 PM EDT
Hello friends,

Mom took Dad to the doctor today for some hip pain that he had been having for the past 2 days. It turns out that dad probably has a blood clot in his hips. The doctor mentioned that it probably formed in the joint. Dad's "rat poisoin" (warafin) has been raised and he is to keep his legs elevated.

Please pray that this clot disolves quickly and does not cause any type of complications. Thank you for your prayers, Dad is SO CLOSE to being done with these chemo treatments and begin his healing process.

I know that he (and the rest of us) are ready for this new phase!!

We are still out here

Hello all, or at least whoever is still reading this. Thanks for your support and patience with us on these updates. Thanks for hanging in with us as our updates have been few and far between. With Fall, i'm sure Joy's been busy getting back into the routine of kids and well, its been crazy busy with all the fall stuff here! It's like I have 75 kids! But God's been very good... just short 2 teachers and my youth group has more than tripled in size so far from last year!

Dad had the chemo bottle re-attached today. It will be attached until Saturday. The dosage was decreased some and he was not given the iron this time because his blood was still doing okay. He will have to have a needle for his blood count for the next 4 fridays. He will still be taking the warfarin (the one dad affectionately calls "Rat Poison.") He is scheduled to for two more chemo treatments and then he's done.

He was in to see the doctor that did the surgery and last week and said that everything was good and that he was coming along okay!

So thanks so much for your prayers and for journeying with us through all this. We greatly appreiciate it! Mom and Dad have really appreciated the visits from friends and family lately as well as the phone calls!

Thanks!

Specific Prayer Request
Strength and Energy - That this chemo treatment will go well and that it won't be as hard on his body as they have been.

Thanks again!
Amy for the crew!!!
